This Privacy Policy explains how Istibana ("we", "us"), operated by Shakir Ali Mrayyen in Jordan, collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our survey platform and when you respond to surveys created with it.
Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Account information you provide when you register — your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Survey content you create, including questions, settings, and branding.
- Survey responses submitted to surveys you own, which may include personal data that respondents choose to provide.
- Usage and technical data such as log entries, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the platform and its features.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Generate analytics and AI-assisted insights for surveys you own.
- Communicate with you about your account, security, and service updates.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
Legal bases for processing
Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the basis of your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and compliance with our legal obligations.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf (such as hosting and infrastructure providers), when required by law, or to protect our rights and users. Survey responses are accessible to the survey owner who collected them.
Payments are handled by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. When you buy a plan, Paddle collects your billing details (such as name, email, country, and payment method) and processes them under its own privacy policy. We never receive or store your full card details; we receive only what we need to activate your plan, such as your order and subscription status.
Data retention
We retain account and survey data for as long as your account is active, and thereafter as needed to comply with our legal obligations or resolve disputes. You can delete surveys and their responses at any time from your dashboard.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request a portable copy of your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
Security
We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and role-based access control — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of material breaches where required by law.
